Abstract: Verenium has constructed a 1.4 MM gal/year cellulosic ethanol demonstration facility and is running the plant to demonstrate the economics of our process. This talk will describe our experiences moving the technology from the laboratory to the industrial plant.
Biography
Dr. Joel Kreps is Associate Director of Research at Verenium Corporation. Verenium Corporation is a leader in the development and the commercialization of cellulosic ethanol, an environmentally-friendly and renewable transportation fuel. Verenium also produces higher performance specialty enzymes for applications within the biofuels, industrial, animal nutrition and health markets. At Verenium Dr. Kreps oversees early stage research and interfaces with the industrial plants in the areas of commercial strain construction and deployment. He is also a member of the editorial board for the journal Protein Expression and Purification and sits on the Industrial Advisory Board for the Whitaker Center for Biomedical Engineering at University of California at San Diego.
