Biography

Bill is currently a Research Fellow and Global Director of External Innovation for Cargill, Inc.  The objective for that role is to work closely with Cargill businesses to identify and procure their tactical and strategic technology needs using external networks.

Bill Aimutis is a native of Indiana where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science at Purdue University.  Bill attended graduate school at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University earning a Master’s degree and Doctor of Philosophy in the Food Science Department. Bill also has advanced leadership training from Harvard Business School and University of Minnesota Carlson School of Business. Bill has held several research and operations leadership positions in his career.

Bill is passionate about education and teaching.  As part of that he holds an Adjunct Professor position in the Department of Food Science at Purdue University where he frequently lectures on food chemistry, food forensic analysis, and new product development topics.

Dr. Aimutis has published many papers in refereed and trade journals, presented numerous abstracts, and been an invited speaker to business and technical meetings worldwide.  In 2002, he was awarded Purdue University’s Distinguished Agricultural Alumni Award, and in 2005 was awarded an Outstanding Food Scientist Award by the Department of Food Science at Purdue University.  Dr. Aimutis was also honored with the Distinguised Alumnus Award from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Virginia Tech in March, 2017.

Bill and his wife, Jeannette, are the proud parents of Vince (33 years old) and Donald (30 years old).  In his free time he enjoys fishing, reading history, and spending time with family.
