Biography

Jean-Marc Gilson began his career with Dow Corning in 1989 as a process engineer in Belgium. He then served in a number of engineering, financial, and leadership roles in Europe, Asia and at the company's headquarter in the United States.

Jean-Marc has focused his career on specialty materials since 1999, when he was a R&D for Dow Corning's Specialty Chemicals unit. In 2003, he was named corporate Vice President and General Manager for the Advanced Technologies Business. Jean-Marc relocated to Japan in 2005 as Asian Area President to oversee the company's multi-billion dollar global Specialty Materials business. He was later named Executive Vice President of Dow Corning in 2009.

In 2010, he became CEO of Avantor Performance Materials, based in Pennsylvania, a portfolio company of private equity firm New Mountain Capital. In early 2012, building on his long career in silicones, he moved to Nusil, California, as Vice-Chairman at the time a newly acquired New Mountain Capital portfolio company. As of the summer of 2014, and after 20 successful years working in the US and Asia, Jean-Marc relocated to France to take the leadership of the Roquette Group, a French global leader in Nutrition and Health.

Jean-Marc received a Master’s degree in Chemical engineering from the University of Liege (Belgium) and an MBA from IMD (Switzerland).
