Biography

Dr. Miyoung Suh is Associate Professor in the Department of Human Nutritional Sciences at the University of Manitoba. She has been also trained as a Clinical Dietitian in the areas of gastroenterology, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. Dr. Suh has been a nutrition lead of Canada Israel International Fetal Alcohol Consortium (CIIFAC), identifying nutritional strategies for mitigating signs and symptoms of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders. With her recent engagement in Opaskwayak Cree Nation (OCN, The Pas) smart vertical farm, Dr. Suh hopes to develop and test various functional vegetables in collaboration with KIST, Korea, which will aid in combatting obesity, diabetes and other chronic metabolic diseases, especially for the communities where food choices are found to be stumbling blocks in achieving a healthy community.
