Biography

Rick Peters began his career hauling livestock in 1985 before joining the largest commercial livestock carrier in North America, Steve’s Livestock Transport, in 1994. For the next 20 years, he learned the inner workings of the business, focussing on how to create value for customers and helping Steve’s to develop its expertise as a leader in biosecurity solutions for the livestock transport industry. As Vice-President of Logistics & Industry Relations, Rick’s responsibilities include all aspects of transporting livestock, including animal welfare, biosecurity, and driver safety as well as customer relations. In addition, he is also involved in various, industry related, provincial and national committees. 

Rick grew up on a dairy farm and agriculture remains an important part of his life. For over 30 years, he has resided in southeastern Manitoba where he, his wife Carolyn and their four children are active in the community.
