Biography

Dr. Xing Wang Deng is the preparatory Dean President of School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences at Peking University. He graduated from Peking University in 1985 with M.S. degree and then graduated from University of California at Berkeley in 1989 with a PhD in plant biology. He joined faculty of Yale University department of molecular, cell, and development biology in 1992. Before moving back to China, he was Daniel C. Eaton Professor of Yale University till 2014. He worked on plant photomorphogenesis, noncoding RNAs, heterosis and molecular design breeding in plant. He was rewarded with the Kumho Science International Award by the International Society for Plant Molecular Biology (ISPMB) in 2003 and elected to US National Academy of Sciences in 2013.
